WordPress

I am an experienced WordPress & Woocommerce developer. I utilise existing plugins where appropriate and am highly skilled in custom theme and plugin development, having had built WP sites for a wide range of purposes and industries. I make modifications to existing WP sites, build them from scratch, integrate with APIs, provide managed hosting, security, maintenance & support and training.

I integrate with the APIs of third-party platforms, where applicable, to save time & money and to increase productivity. My usual stack is PHP and MySQL and of course HTML, CSS & JavaScript/jQuery. I use CodeIgniter or Laravel where WordPress doesn’t suit.

I can build your online store, membership or subscription-based website and just about anything else ecommerce related. I am well versed in ecommerce design as well as various third-party services such as payment gateways and shipping integrations.

Managed Hosting

Starting at just £10 per month, my managed hosting services can be tailored to meet each clients’ needs without including unnecessary features. I provide shared hosting as well as VPS and bare metal/dedicated hosting. I utilise modern cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud and Digital Ocean. We’ll discuss your requirements and what features you may need, such as backups, malware scanning, a web application firewall, a CDN and more, including more highly-available setups. My managed hosting services can be combined with maintenance, support and updates into one monthly price.

Maintenance & Support

I provide website maintenance and support on a monthly-priced basis and ad-hoc. We’ll discuss your requirements and I’ll provide a monthly price. Maintenance can include: software updates (such as WordPress core, themes and plugins), malware scanning and removal, actively monitoring and fixing code errors, keeping up to date with changes in integrated third-party APIs, periodical speed optimisation and more. Maintenance & Support can be combined with my managed hosting and security services into one monthly price.

Speed Optimisation

Website speed is extremely important for customer acquisition and retention, and is an important factor in SEO. Amazon once said that a 10th of a second extra load time resulted in a 1% drop in sales! Whether your website is ecommerce or not, conversions are affected by the speed of your website. I’ll improve the speed of your website by addressing the many performance related aspects both on the front end and server side. I can also provide training on some things you can do yourself to help performance.

Malware Removal

Is your website infected with malware or has otherwise been hacked? Act now to minimise financial, reputation and search engine ranking damage. I’ll clean your website of any infections and harden your website against future attacks. If you’re unsure if your website has been hacked – I’ll check it out first. Depending on the website, I can have it cleaned and hardened in as little as 1-3 hours, from just £60. I can also provide on-going protection as part of my Maintenance and Managed Hosting services for a fixed monthly price.

Consultation

I offer consultation across a range of topics, tools, content management systems and third-party platforms/SaaS’s. Common topics include WordPress, hosting/servers and payment gateways.

Back up & Security

Protect your website from hackers & malware and protect your website from data loss with regular backups. Backups & website security can be combined with my Managed Hosting and Maintenance & Support services into one monthly price.

Training

I offer training in several content management systems, including WordPress, as well as several third-party platforms such as MailChimp, various payment gateways, various email services, hosting/server management and more.

Content Management

A content management system is a means to manage the content of a website. A CMS is an important part of even the simplest of websites. A CMS is vital to allow non developers to edit the content of a website as and when required, with minimal delay.

Domain Names

I provide help with purchasing and choosing domain names; I carry out DNS changes and nameserver changes; I help with domain transfers.

Email

Get professional business email addresses with your own domain name. I usually recommend G-Suite, Office365 or Zoho Mail for small and medium businesses. I’ll set these up for you and provide any training required.

Email Marketing

My Email Marketing services can be any combination of: email template design, subscriber sign up form design and build, generating emails (to send emails to) and the actual sending of the emails.

Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay per click advertising can be a great, and sometimes essential, tool to bring new customers to your new or existing business. Unlike organic search engine optimisation, paid advertising can get your website appearing on page one of search engines from day one.

Responsive Web Design

Even today there a lots of websites that are not responsive! They should be. Most web users now browse the web on a mobile or tablet device and so your website should be designed to look good and be user-friendly on various devices. It’s also a ranking factor in several search engines!
